Gillian’s Closet – Sort and Donate
In my last post I wrote about my challenge for the summer, organizing my 15 year old daughter’s closet. We got through the negotiating stage (mostly unscathed) and now on to phase 2. We did the typical sort of Sell, Donate, Trash. Some things were easy to part with and I knew would sell easily like her karaoke machine and doll bunk beds. Luckily, over the years we had slowly been trying to get rid of things by donating them or giving them to another child. It wasn’t as difficult as we both thought it was going to be. She went through the toy box and kept whatever stuffed animals she had an attachment to. I was surprised at how many she wanted to keep. It made me feel better, that it wasn’t just me that had an attachment to these items. In one day, we were able to go through everything to determine what was staying. Just a couple trips to our local Goodwill drop-off center and we were done. Definitely one of those jobs that I wished we would have done sooner, but assumed it would take a lot longer and be a lot more painful.
On to the design…
